Biography

Hi! I’m Ornella, a passionate linguist and Spanish tutor, offering tailored support to students preparing for their GCSE Spanish exams. I have a strong academic background having achieved grade 9s in Spanish, Italian, English Language, English Literature, Maths, History, and Religious Education, as well as grade 8s in Combined Science and Geography. I’m currently studying A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Biology, but I have always enjoyed studying languages. I was born in Italy and am a native Italian speaker, fluent in both Italian and English, and nearly fluent in Spanish. Having achieved very high marks in my Spanish GCSE, I know exactly what examiners are looking for, and I focus on helping students gain the confidence, vocabulary, grammar skills, and exam technique needed to secure those top grades. As someone who genuinely loves languages, I aim to make learning Spanish engaging, clear, and effective, whether it’s breaking down tricky grammar, polishing speaking and writing, or mastering listening and reading comprehension. I also help students develop smart revision strategies and time-saving tips to maximise their performance under exam pressure. Outside of tutoring, I play hockey and compete in athletics. Balancing sport with academics has taught me how to manage busy schedules effectively, which is something I always bring into my approach when supporting students. It also helps me connect with those who lead active lives, and it’s given me a range of transferable skills like discipline, communication, and focus that I bring into every lesson. I’m based in North West London and can teach students from any area; in person on Sundays, and online on weekdays after 5pm (except Wednesdays). If you’re looking for a supportive, high-achieving tutor who’s passionate about Spanish and committed to helping you succeed, I’d love to be part of your learning journey!
